Making websites work

How to build a better business online

About

I am a freelance digital producer & account/project manager based in the heart of Oxfordshire in the UK.

Background

My web career began back in 1996 when I took my first job as a lowly junior website designer. Those were the days when the online community was dialing-up through AOL or Compuserve, and Browser wars were just starting out with Mosaic & Netscape starting the battles - oh sweet memories!

A few jobs have graced my path along the way, not all of them bear fond memories. However I’ve learnt from my experiences and on reflection I’m grateful that the good times, and the not-so-good times, have shaped me both professionally and personally. I am a product of my past - and I’m pretty sure I like that…

Over the last decade or so I’ve been involved in many teams and lots of diverse projects for SME’s, blue chip corporate clients, FMCG accounts, Charitable organisations and government bodies. The list can look impressive, but at the end of the day you deal with just a handful of ‘client-side’ people, and no matter who they work for I see my role is to serve them to the best of my abilities and beliefs irrespective of the brand or company they represent.

Today

I’m lucky enough to enjoy splitting my time between two ventures. First is Making websites work through which I aim to guide success into the paths of Small Businesses and SME’s here in the UK, and secondly I liase on operations for Surefire Digital, a local boutique digital marketing consultancy practise.
